Warning! SPOILERS ahead for The Gray Man!
The ending of the 2022 movie The Gray Man leaves several key questions unanswered. While Netflix hasn't yet confirmed The Gray Man 2, the Russo brothers’ adaptation appears to be setting up an action-thriller sequel. In fact, the Russos originally developed The Gray Man with the intention of launching a franchise, suggesting many of the story’s mysteries and burning questions will be answered in future movies.
Starring Ryan Gosling in the title role, The Gray Man tells the story of accomplished CIA assassin Sierra Six — real name Court Gentry, a former prisoner whose sentence was commuted in exchange for a lifelong commitment to the agency. While on a mission, Six is given a drive containing dark secrets about the CIA, specifically chief Denny Carmichael (Regé-Jean Page). As Carmichael puts a hit on Six and hires rogue mercenary Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) to lead the manhunt, Six must also save his former case handler, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton), and his niece, Claire Fitzroy (Julia Butters), who has a heart condition that requires a traceable pacemaker. By The Gray Man’s ending, Six and Claire have escaped CIA captivity while the antagonistic Agent Suzanne Brewer (Jessica Henwick), Carmichael, and Six’s allied Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) are exonerated of any wrongdoing.

While Six manages to escape the CIA’s grasp alongside Claire, The Gray Man still keeps plenty of its loose ends untied.
