The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace is hoping to bring back the new Green Arrow for season 9 following her last Arrowverse appearance. Things are starting to come together as The Flash season 8 is heading into its final three episodes, with the season finale arriving later this month. With Iris West-Allen's time sickness remaining as one of the story's last big mysteries, and some shocking villain returns having already taken place, The Flash is setting up what is sure to be an action-packed installment before going on its biggest break yet, as season 9 won't premiere until 2023.
When The Flash season 8 debuted in late 2021, it opened in a significantly different way, as the Arrowverse drama hosted the crossover-like, five-part event: Armageddon. Though it wasn't a traditional crossover, The Flash: Armageddon brought in several Arrowverse heroes from other shows. One of them was Katherine McNamara as she reprised the role of the new Green Arrow, Mia Queen-Smoak, nearly a year after her spinoff Green Arrow and the Canaries wasn't picked up to series by The CW. The new Emerald Archer returned for The Flash: Armageddon part 5, while also leaving the door open for future returns.

As The Flash season 8 has already finished production, audiences shouldn't expect the future Green Arrow to return this year. In TVLine's latest edition of Inside Line, a fan inquired whether or not Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak's daughter will make another appearance in The Flash season 8.
