While theDark Pictures Anthology is a known quantity by now, Supermassive Games' next entry in this flagship horror franchise is still mostly unrevealed. The Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me will star a group of five unlucky protagonists, members of a film crew that had been invited to a replica of a serial killer's «Murder Castle,» and who soon learn that they're in a bit of trouble this time around.
The very first of said five playable characters featured in The Dark Pictures' next chapter is an investigative journalist by the name of Kate Wilder, and Supermassive Games has just revealed that she will be played by Jessie Buckley. Buckley is an Oscar-nominated Irish singer and actress, and may well end up playing a pivotal role in The Devil in Me.

Jessie Buckley had previously played a part in Hollywood productions such as Dolittle and War and Peace, as well as TV shows such as Taboo. As she's the first revealed protagonist of The Devil in Me, her character in the game may end up being roughly equivalent to House of Ashes' Rachel played by Ashley Tisdale. Tisdale was the front-running actress for that particular chapter of The Dark Pictures, and her character was pivotal for the evolving narrative.
