The D&D Movie Will Be Called Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Amongst Thieves
The upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film finally has a title and a release date. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will arrive in theaters on March 3, 2023.
The news comes from today’s D&D Direct, which also brought a slew of announcements for the blockbuster tabletop RPG. New expansions, new board games, and new media all got recapped during the 30-minute showcase, with the movie’s title arriving two-thirds through the presentation.
Starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriquez, Justice Smith, Rege-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant as the evil Lord of Neverwinter, Honor Among Thieves is surprisingly being billed as a fantasy heist movie. The synopsis was revealed last May by Paramount and described a group of misfit heroes who get together to strike it rich, only to be betrayed by one of their own.

"An ex-Harper turned thief escapes from prison with his partner, a female barbarian, and reunites with a no-talent wizard and a druid new to their team in an effort to rob the cheating conman who stole all their loot from the heist that landed them behind bars, and used it to install himself as the Lord of Neverwinter," reads the synopsis. "Only the traitor is allied with a powerful Red Wizard who has something far more sinister in store."
According to today’s presentation, Honor Among Thieves has “wrapped shooting,” and is on track to deliver an exciting ride next March.
