Although it has been some time since Harris moved out of The Conners family home, the sitcom appears to have forgotten about this entire aspect of her abandoned season 4 plotline. Early episodes of The Conners season 4 saw Darlene’s daughter Harris start a protracted feud with her mother when she began dating an older man, Aldo. Although Aldo and Harris soon moved in together after a few false starts, The Conners has still found excuses for the character to regularly appear on the series and is referencing her partner less and less each week.
This is not the first time that The Conners has struggled with a supporting star’s inconsistent role in the series. While James Pickens Jr appeared as his Roseanne character Chuck a few times and the late Roseanne’s mother Bev has appeared via Zoom, the former’s busy schedule on another series and the latter’s inability to travel due to COVID meant that The Conners often needed to explain away their extended absences. However, the opposite problem has occurred with Harris.

Even though Harris’s entire fight with Darlene centered on her wanting more independence from her family, the character continues to constantly appear in the Conner family home as it becomes clearer and clearer that the series still needs her around.
