Crunchyroll has officially announced and US release dates after successfully acquiring the two anime movies’ North American distribution rights. Both movies will debut in theaters for one day only. In addition, the anime streaming platform has also landed these two films’ rights to select international territories.
Following its Japanese premiere last October 2023, The Concierge will arrive in U.S. theaters only on September 11. This will then be followed by its international releases on September 23 in Italy, September 24 in Australia, and September 27 in Spain. The film hails from PRODUCTION I.G (Ghost in the Shell, HAIKYU!!), with Yoshimi Itazu serving as its director. It features the voices of Natsumi Kawaida as Akino, Takeo Otsuka as Elulu, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Woolly.
“Akino is a trainee concierge at the Hokkyoku Department Store, an unusual department store that caters exclusively to animals,” reads the synopsis. “Under the watchful eyes of the floor manager and senior concierges, Akino runs around to fulfill the wishes of customers with a myriad of needs and problems in her pursuit to become a full-fledged concierge.”
As for Trapezium, the idol anime film will premiere in U.S. theaters only on September 18. It will be followed by its release on November 19 in France and November 26 in Germany. The film is directed by Masahiro Shinohara from a screenplay written by Yuko Kakihara, based on Kazumi Takayama’s novel of the same name. The voice cast includes Asaki Yuikawa, Hina Youmiya, Reina Ueda, and Haruka Aikawa. It is a production of Cloverworks.
