In each gameplay trailer for The Callisto Protocol, fans have seen how the team at Striking Distance Studios is building on the groundwork set by Dead Space, as it seeks to give the player a gorier, more horrific experience. Creatures featuring a level of body horror somewhat similar to Dead Space's Necromorphs have been spotted, except with a much more visceral level of detail. Bone, muscle tendons, and more can be seen poking out of the wandering horrors in Black Iron, the setting of The Callisto Protocol.
