A trailer for The Batman reveals a new look at the Riddler's costume. In the upcoming film from writer/director Matt Reeves, Paul Dano makes his DC debut as Edward Nashton, a serial killer who preys on Gotham's elite and taunts others with riddles. What was once conceived as a solo outing for Ben Affleck's Batman has now morphed into a standalone film set outside DC's Extended Universe. Robert Pattinson has been tapped to portray a younger version of Bruce Wayne in his second year of fighting crime and uncovering corruption in Gotham City. For The Batman, writers Reeves and Peter Craig took inspiration from Year One,The Long Halloween, Ego, andZero Year comics storylines. The film's cast also includes Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffery Wright as Lieutenant James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as a secondary villain, the Penguin.
