Gabby Windey is off to lead The Bachelorette alongside Rachel Recchia, and her goofy sense of humor is likely to steal the show. Bachelor Nation has been in crises mode in recent years. It's been a bit of a hot mess between Clayton Echard's poor handling of his Bachelor season, Katie Thurston's bathroom breakdown, and Rachael Kirkconnell's plantation party-going. Not to mention Chris Harrison's exit from the franchise after defending Rachael. It's been a bit like watching a train wreck. Only Michelle Young's season managed a decent happy ending despite leaving Brandon Jones broken-hearted. Clayton's ending is getting compared to Juan Pablo Galavis, bringing the franchise to a new low. It's almost starting to look like Bachelor Nation's chaos is intentionally induced by producers for the fanfare around it. However, Clayton also deserves credit for the season 26 downfall.
After being easily manipulated by the women early on, Clayton finally settled on a solid top three: Gabby, Rachel, and Susie Evans. Clayton did what most Bachelor Nation leads do when it came to overnights. He developed deeper intimacy with the women off-camera and slept with them. While overnights always imply a physical connection, rarely is it spoken on explicitly. However, when Susie asked if Clayton loved any other women or slept with them, it seemed over once came to the surface. Susie jumped ship, and Clayton tried to make things work with Gabby or Rachel, forgetting to mention he'd told Susie he loved her the most. Out of nowhere, he dropped Gabby and Rachel after begging them to stay, chased Susie, and got rejected. Later on, Clayton and Susie rekindled things in the real world, but the debacle left a bad taste in fans' mouths.
