After being interviewed by Jason Tartick, former co-host of The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe shared that she was «triggered» when she discovered that the series would include «two bachelorettes» next season. Featured on The Bachelorette season 11, Kaitlyn has since returned as an integral part of Bachelor Nation, co-hosting with Tayshia Adams during season 17. Well-received by fans, both Tayshia and Kaitlyn were praised for their co-hosting in light of Chis Harrison's quick departure from the franchise.
Since leaving, Kaitlyn and Tayshia have expressed different emotions about the series. While Tayshia hopes to take some time to herself away from the show, while Kaitlyn has explained that she feels just the opposite. With Jesse Palmer now hosting, Kaitlyn has mentioned her disappointment in no longer being directly involved with The Bachelorette. In an interview with Jason for E! News, Kaitlyn expressed her annoyance with the franchise's decision to feature both Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey in a single season of The Bachelorette. When asked about her feelings on the decision, Kaityln stated, «Can't a woman have her own season?...I just want someone to have their own season and I don't want it to be them pitted against each other.» Expressing how previous bachelorettes, such as Tayshia, Clare Crawley and Katie Thurston, were robbed of a season because of another woman, she predicted that something similar could happen to Rachel and Gabby.
