A Tesla customer who had returned his Model X just days after buying it in 2020 is reportedly still paying for it two years later. Tesla is one of the leading names in the world of electric vehicles (EV), offering a range that includes the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. The Model X is one of Tesla's most expensive models, costing more than $100,000. It is a crossover vehicle that's often marketed as an electric SUV, with the Plaid model capable of hitting 0-60mph in just 2.5 seconds.
Buying a Tesla is a dream for many, with the company's cars having reached cult status among EV fans in the U.S. and around the world. However, the dream is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve for most people, thanks to the multiple price hikes announced by the company over the past couple of years. Earlier this year, Tesla raised prices of its entire range twice in less than a month, citing increased input costs following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In addition, the higher prices made Tesla vehicles no longer eligible for rebates in California as part of the state's Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP).

In an interview with CNBC, California resident Danny Roman claimed that he decided to return his Model X after three days of ownership in 2020 under the company's seven-day, no-questions-asked policy that Elon Musk had been touting back in the day. Roman bought the vehicle because he wanted to minimize his carbon footprint by driving an EV. However, after a few days with the car, he found multiple issues with it, including a shorter-than-expected range and a problematic door handle.
