Techland announces a delay for the first major story DLC of Dying Light 2
Developer Techland just announced that it has chosen to delay the first major story DLC for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Initially, the developers planned to put the DLC out sometime in June, but now it will come out in the middle of September.
In a letter to the Dying Light 2 community, Techland stated that it made this decision simply because the DLC needs more time in the oven before it can come out polished. The developers apologized for this decision, saying that they aim to make the DLC live up to the expectations set by fans “by giving it the absolute highest level of polish.”
Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait long before experiencing new Dying Light 2 content, as Techland ensured the community that it will implement two major features in June. One of these features comes in the form of Dying Light 2’s “first game Chapter,” which goes by the name “In the Footsteps of a Nightrunner.” This new Chapter will come “filled with content and events,” so hopefully, players can get a great deal of mileage out of that. Additionally, June will see the release of the game’s photo mode, so fans can go back through the main campaign and find the perfect shot in the midst of this post-apocalyptic world.
It’s unlikely that many will come out celebrating the delay of the Dying Light 2 story DLC, but at least this means that the content has a higher chance of turning out well. Thankfully, September isn’t that far from June anyway, so fans should be more than able to stomach the three month wait. Of course, there remains the possibility that Techland will delay the DLC a second time, but hopefully, it will be able to stick to the September release window.
