One of the biggest retailers in America, Target, has announced plans to keep its stores closed on Thanksgiving Day going forward. The store--like many others across the retail landscape--previously opened its doors to shoppers on the holiday itself ahead of Black Friday.
Target CEO Brian Cornell said in an email to employees that the company's decision in 2020 to run its Black Friday sales period longer, due in part to the pandemic, is now the «new standard,» according to the Associated Press.
