Humble and Supra Games have given us a surprise console release of Supraland: Six Inches Under. The sequel is now out on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One, having previously released on PC last year. It’s also on Xbox Game Pass.
The only current console left is the Nintendo Switch, with a release expected this summer.
Supraland: Six Inches Under heads below ground for a new first person metroidvania-esque adventure. You’ll have to try and escape Cagetown using quirky abilities to solve puzzles, and with a little bit of combat thrown into the mix as well. There’s new abilities to master, a blend of simpler puzzles on the main path and optional ones to really hurt your brain, and in general an effort to tighten up the experience (with more endgame content to boot!).
First released for PC in January 2022, this sequel has taken a similar path to other platforms as the 2018 original, simmering for a year or so and now popping up on consoles.
Looking back on Supraland, Steve said in our review, “Supraland is an absolute joy to play and deserves to do well on consoles. Don’t judge this book by its cover and expect a simplistic kid’s game, because Supraland is a magnificent fusion of gaming’s most legendary series, all wrapped up in a narrative and aesthetic that skewers some of mainstream gaming’s worst excesses. Not all the jokes land, some of the puzzles may have you searching for hints, but you owe it to yourself to drop the dreary space marines and depressing post-apocalyptic worlds and surrender to the colourful wonders of Supraland.”
