Warning! Contains a preview for DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #1
Contrary to popular belief, the latest DCeased series is proving that Kryptonians like Superman and Supergirl are not as indestructible as readers have been led to believe. Throughout classic DC lore, Kryptonians traditionally are not seen to have many weaknesses. Kryptonite (in all of its forms and colors; green, red, black, etc.) has proven to be a Kryptonian killer, of course, but there are few (if any) other alternatives that the race needs to be wary of.
Typically, it has been suggested that all someone would need to topple someone like Supergirl would be a piece of Kryptonite. On the flip side, anyone without Kryptonite on their side would be out of luck in a joust with Supergirl, because there are few other weakness that could combat a Kryptonian. Except, maybe one that has been long overlooked until two of DC's latest apocalyptic events: the undead.

DCeased: War of the Undead Gods continues the legacy of DCeased, which initially saw a corrupted version of the Anti-Life Equation wreak havoc on the DC Universe, going as far as to spread a zombie-like virus upon the world's inhabitants. A San Diego Comic-Con preview for Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine's third and final installment of the series features a reborn and undead version of Darkseid, as well as a newly zombified version of Supergirl as Kara is overtaken by a horde of undead and falls prey to the Anti-Life Equation. It is also worth noting that this will not be the first time that a Kryptonian will be seen as an unwilling subject of the undead, as earlier this year during the DC vs. Vampires arc, Superman is made into a vampire.
