Capcom's recent reveal of Street Fighter 6, while certainly exciting, has had an unexpected reaction across Twitter due to the game's logo. The news of a new entry into the seminal fighting game series is cause for anticipation as fans await more news on this latest installment. That being said, Capcom would certainly not be expecting to have already created a controversy surrounding their announcement.
This year, the Street Fighter series will celebrate its 35th anniversary, so it makes sense that Capcom would use this opportunity to release a new entry into the franchise. It has also been eight years since the release of Street Fighter 5 in 2016, which was roughly the same amount of time between that game and Street Fighter 4's release. Though fans may certainly be apprehensive about Street Fighter 6's launch given the lack of features its predecessor released with and the design of this new logo could add to those concerns.

It seems that rather than keeping the Street Fighter Series' iconic and striking combination of red and yellow colors across an 80's era font, Capcom has decided to update the logo to a simpler white hexagonal box containing the letters «SF' with a small 6 in the bottom corner. This redesign is viewed by many as a much worse logo and one that loses the flair that the series is known for.
