Billy Hargrove, controlled by the Mind Flayer in Stranger Things, nearly claimed more victims during its deadly attacks in the show's third season, as a new comic reveals the monster came close to taking down Hawkins deputies. In a new preview for Stranger Things Summer Special by Dark Horse Comics, officers Phil Callahan and Calvin Powell investigate the warehouse where the Mind Flayer does most of its damage. Unfortunately, the officers nearly became the monster's latest victims during their investigations.
The Mind Flayer is the main villain in Stranger Things, as the giant shadow monster creature lives in the Upside Down along with Vecna. The Mind Flayer has possessed (Flayed) numerous people in Hawkins, starting with Will Byer and perhaps most famously, Billy Hargrove, who the monster took control of and turned into a vessel to do its bidding. One of the main arcs of season three of Stranger Things featured the Mind Flayer infecting both rats and victims brought to him by Billy to be Flayed, as it used them to become a physical monster in Hawkins. However, the Mind Flayer nearly had more victims than initially believed.

Dark Horse Comics revealed a new look at Stranger Things Summer Special by Keith Champagne, Caio Filipe, Dan Jackson, Nate Piekos, Diego Galindo, and Heather Vaughn. The comic follows officers Phil Callahan and Calvin Powell investigating the Brimborn Steel Works facility.
