Executive producer Shawn Levy explains why Stranger Thingsseason 4 part 1 & part 2 are being released separately. Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things became a pop culture sensation with its mix of horror, sci-fi, and '80s nostalgia. The Netflix original series follows a group of friends who face supernatural threats with the help of a girl with mysterious powers.
After Stranger Things season 3 ended with the action-packed Battle of Starcourt, fans have been eagerly awaiting season 4, which the Duffer Brothers teased would have some major changes. Unlike previous seasons, Stranger Things season 4 consists of longer episodes (and a feature-length finale), and its release is split in two. The nine-episode season is separated into seven episodes making up volume 1 and two episodes making up volume 2. Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
