Steam VR Fest brings deals and demos for virtual reality games next week
VR games get the spotlight next week with Steam VR Fest. From July 18 to July 25, VR games of all shapes and realities are getting discounts and demos. This is the perfect chance to pick up that VR game that you’ve always wanted to try. There’ll also be plenty of new demos to check out for upcoming VR titles.
It’s fair to say that the VR space has been a bit stagnant over the last year or so. We haven’t really seen many big games launched for VR platforms since Half-Life: Alyx. That’s not to say that we have nothing to look forward to this year, though. For instance, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution is on track to release later this year. And with Steam VR Fest, the attention is finally back on some games you might’ve missed out on.
Steam VR Fest will probably seem like a familiar thing to most Steam users. Every so often, the platform hosts Steam Next Fest, which highlights tons of upcoming indie titles with demos and developer interviews. Steam VR Fest is essentially the same thing but with a particular focus on virtual reality. Just like Steam Next Fest, you can expect to see plenty of deals on classic VR titles. And for those that want something fresh, plenty of demos will be up for grabs too.
The trailer announcing next week’s event highlights a few titles that’ll see discounts. Boneworks, Hard Bullet, Into the Radius VR, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and Half-Life: Alyx are just a few that are being showcased. If your VR headset has been packed away for the last few months, now’s the perfect time to dust it off.
