Starfield fans want to see survival mode be available from launch. While Starfield does seem to be unlike a lot of Bethesda's other RPGs with its sci-fi setting and ambitious scope, a lot of fans are hoping that their favorite elements from the company's previous RPGs will be making an appearance. As of the time of writing, Starfield's biggest reveal was at the June 2021 Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, which gave fans around 15 minutes of gameplay along with a short speech from Todd Howard about other features coming to the game.
Howard confirmed that Starfield would have over 1000 unique planets to explore, something that proved to be both an exciting and concerning figure for fans. While there are plenty of gamers who would love to explore a vast galaxy, there are also those who would rather have a handful of planets that are given an immense level of detail. Besides its incredibly ambitious scale, not much has been revealed in terms of Starfield's gameplay features, but there are plenty of additions fans are hoping for including a dedicated Survival Mode.

Survival Mode is available in Fallout 4 and was introduced to Skyrim officially as part of the release of the Anniversary Edition. Unlike the regular experience of Bethesda RPGs, Survival Mode gives a much grittier style of gameplay, where the environment can be just as deadly as a Deathclaw or a dragon.
