Slice-of-life games like Stardew Valley aren't necessarily better in co-op, despite the option being available. When embarking on a relaxing farming adventure, much of the gameplay both mechanically and narratively is meant for a single player, and numerous roadblocks can make multiplayer farming not just cramped, but game-breaking. With quests achieved too quickly, and limited space on farm maps for player goals, it may be better to play separately beside a friend, than on the same server.
