Star Wars: Visions, the animated series that brought the perennial sci-fi franchise to the world of anime, has been renewed for a second season on Disney+. Announced as «Volume 2,» it was also given a release window of spring of 2023. This is just one of the long string of announcements that have been pouring out of this year's Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim.
Released in September of 2021, the first season of Star Wars: Visions was a reinvigoration of the galaxy far, far away the likes of which had never been seen before in the franchise. Various artists and storytellers came together to add an anthology of nine original tales to the Star Wars mythos. These stories cover the entire span of the galaxy's timeline, from before the events of the prequel trilogy to years after the events of the sequels. Volume 1 featured a well-known voice cast that included Neil Patrick Harris, Alison Brie, George Takei, and Temuera Morrison.
