Star Wars has finally hinted at Palpatine's origin on Naboo. Emperor Palpatine is the greatest villain of the Star Wars saga, a Dark Lord of the Sith who infiltrated the Republic and ascended to the rank of Chancellor before engineering the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire. He's something of a mystery to audiences, which might seem strange given that much of his past would presumably be public knowledge in the Star Wars galaxy itself.

Fans had initially speculated it would remain canon even after Disney acquired Lucasfilm back in 2012, given author James Luceno was believed to have consulted with George Lucas himself while writing it, but that's recently been confirmed not to be the case. E.K. Johnston's novel «Queen's Peril» revealed a few secrets of Palpatine's master, Darth Plagueis, contradicting Luceno's book. But Johnston's latest work, «Queen's Hope,» colors in a little more about Palpatine himself.
