It's been a while since Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Dice's second take on the Star Wars universe came out in 2017 and was universally panned for its lootboxes, as well as 'exploitative microtransactions' by the gaming industry, and even some outside of it. The developers eventually removed many of these microtransactions, resulting in the game actually being considered good by some. But the bad taste left by the microtransactions saga was too much for it to be overcome in any meaningful way.
