According to a recently released trailer and some character portraits, the final season of Star Trek: Picard will be featuring several of the cast members from The Next Generation including Geordi La Forge, Worf, Beverly Crusher, Deanna Troi, and William Riker. The production company behind the show, Paramount, released a character portrait for Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager as well. The studio previously announced that Data would be in the upcoming season, but has not published a character portrait.

The news comes from the Star Trek Universe panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. The upcoming reunion of the characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation was first revealed earlier this year during the First Contact Day celebrations. Executive Producer on Picard Terry Matalas explained the significance of this move, noting that "I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday. It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction. So, it’s most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the USS Enterprise.”
“It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send off is an honor,” Matalas noted. “The entire Star Trek: Picard team and I can’t wait for fans to experience this final, high stakes, starship-bound adventure in season three!”
