The Enterprise is at the brink of a new frontier — and a new planet — in the first poster for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. After much anticipation, Paramount+'s third live-action Star Trek show is set to premiere in just a few months. Strange New Worlds was officially announced to be in the works in May 2020, with filming taking place last year. The series is a spin-off of Star Trek: Discovery; specifically, Strange New Worlds picks up with Discovery season 2 characters Captain Pike (Anson Mount), Number One (Rebecca Romijn), and Spock (Ethan Peck), who became such fan favorites that spin-off talk began before their arcs even came to a close.
Debuting on Paramount+ this May, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will find the current crew of the Enterprise, led by Pike, as they embark on missions set in new worlds across the galaxy. The series is being positioned as a prequel to Star Trek: The OriginalSeries and is therefore set 10 years before that begins. Nevertheless, it contains connections to the flagship show even beyond Spock and the Enterprise; Strange New Worlds will also feature a younger Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding). The series also stars Babs Olusanmokun, Christina Chong, Jess Bush, Melissa Navia, and Bruce Horak.
