Squid Game Season 2 Hints & Clues Planted In Season 1 Teases Creator
Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk says hints and clues for season 2 were planted in season 1. Created, written, and directed by Hwang, Squid Game became a global sensation and one of Netflix’s most popular series of all time. The survival thriller focuses on a deadly contest that involved 456 people from all walks of life who become players in a series of deadly children’s games to win the ultimate cash prize.
Starring Lee Jung-jae, Jung Ho-yeon, Park Hae-soo, Gong Yoo, and Lee Byung-hun, Squid Game has solidified itself as a pop-culture phenomenon. Since the show’s debut in September of 2021, Netflix launched an official Squid Game merchandise line, popular YouTuber MrBeast built a real-life Squid Game set, and the series earned numerous accolades. Earlier this year, Netflix announced that Squid Game 2 would be happening. Recently, Hwang offered an update on the second installment and revealedSquid Game season 2 could release around 2023 or 2024.

Speaking with IndieWire, Hwang continues the conversation about season 2 and teases that hints and clues were planted throughout Squid Game that could evolve in the storyline for the second season.
