Warning: Contains Spoilers for Marvel Voices Pride 2022!
Iconic superhero Spider-Man has just proven by Marvel that he's a better mascot than a superhero. For 60 years, Spider-Man has become the most recognizable face in Marvel Comics. His likability among fans has boosted him into popularity because readers were able to relate to him given that he was just an average person that happened to get bitten by a radioactive spider. However, as the years have gone by, Spider-Man has slowly become more of a mascot than a hero. His origin story has become so well known that people have made jokes about it, including the iconic line «with great power comes great responsibility.» As a result, Spider-Man has become more a character that will occasionally show up to make fans cheer and make a few of his trademark quips. He may not have a reason for being there, but he's still there because he's popular.
