In Soul Hackers 2, MP AKA Magic Points are how players draw out their Demons' power and fully utilize their abilities. Earning MP is crucial to progress through the game, as winning battles often depends on a mix of offensive and defensive Skills that are only usable with MP.
Following in the footsteps of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, the visually stunning sequel, Soul Hackers 2, encompasses what players expect from a turn-based JRPG. The story follows Ringo and Figue, two representations of a powerful artificial intelligence called Aion, and their journey to prevent the world's end. They must team up with party members Arrow, Milady, and Saizo to become Demon Summoners and forge contracts with Demons to assist them.
Soul Hackers 2: What to Know About Ringo and Figue
Each party member has a basic attack and their equipped Demon's Skills in battle. Demons learn new Skills as they level up, and each Skill, unlike the basic attack, requires a certain amount of MP to use. The MP meter size depends on the character level, so the higher the level, the more MP is available. Those who play the game in Easy Mode always have the opportunity to restore MP whenever all the party members are defeated. A pop-up menu will appear and give players the option to Continue. If they choose to do so, all party members are revived with full HP and MP. Nevertheless, there are slightly more challenging ways to get MP.
When players enter a new dungeon, they immediately send out their Demons to search the area. These searches yield beneficial results as players can regain MP through their Demons when scouting. Demons that heal will have a heart icon over their heads, and when players talk to them, it slightly restores all characters' HP and MP meters.
