Sony has announced that it will be temporarily suspending all PlayStation sales in Russia due to the country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. This suspension includes both hardware and software as well as the PlayStation Store as more and more companies temporarily pull out of Russia to avoid getting tied up in controversy.
This was first revealed by business website CNBC, who shared Sony's statement regarding its decision to suspend sales in Ukraine. In the statement, Sony calls for peace in Ukraine and announces that it will be making a pretty sizable donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to help support victims of the war.

“Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) joins the global community in calling for peace in Ukraine,” the company said. “To support humanitarian aid, Sony Group Corporation announced a US$2 million donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the international NGO, Save the Children, to support the victims of this tragedy.”
This news comes shortly after Xbox also announced that it would be halting new sales of Xbox titles and subscriptions in Russia. Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister recently called on both PlayStation and Xbox to leave the Russian market, and since then several big video game publisher like EA, Ubisoft, and Take-Two have all stopped selling software in Russia.
Even smaller publishers like CD Projekt Red and Epic Games have pulled their titles and services from the country, showing that the video game industry is pretty much united in its decision-making regarding Russia and Ukraine.
