It has been a long wait for those of us who cherish Gran Turismo. The Sony series has been a mainstay for PlayStation driving-game fans ever since the first Gran Turismo wowed everyone on the PS1 all the way back in 1997. But it's coming up to five years since GT Sport launched on the PS4.
Polyphony Digital likes to take its time with its signature car sim, of course, and the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 is said to be a return to form. Unlike the more online multiplayer-focused GT Sport, the next numbered entry will have a proper career mode and will see the return of classic tracks such as Deep Forest Raceway. Now, fans can watch a State of Play that will be focused on Gran Turismo 7 this week.

Sony PlayStation has revealed that "just over 30 minutes of new PS5 footage and gameplay details for Gran Turismo 7" will be unveiled in a State of Play this coming Wednesday. There are no more details other than that, but new PS5 footage is very welcome.
Perhaps we'll see some rallying action since there hasn't been much footage of off-road action as yet. Maybe we'll finally (fingers crossed) see the return of the legendary Trial Mountain racecourse. Whatever it is, we know that GT7 will be big, seeing as there'll be around 420 car models to collect and over 90 tracks to race on.
Gran Turismo 7 is due to launch on both PS4 and PS5. While GT Sport is still a stunning looking game, it'll be interesting to see if this new PS5 footage shows off more of the ray-tracing and improved visuals for this sequel.
