There has been one video game actively recruiting for a particular career, and it's a pretty controversial one. America's Army is a game developed and published by the US Army. First launched in 2002, the game's primary purpose is to show potential recruits what army life is like in an attempt to convince them to sign up. 20 years later, America's Army is finally shutting down.

Well, more specifically, America's Army: Proving Grounds is shutting down. The latest game in the series which has received numerous new installments and upgrades over the course of the past two decades. “After eight Years of hard-fought battles, we say goodbye to Czervenia and withdraw our forces. On May 5th, 2022, support and official servers for America’s Army: Proving Groundswill be shut down,” the forum post revealing the news reads.
America's Army has been successful in what it set out to do 20 years ago.
