Sonic Superstars is adds co-op to side-scrolling platforming this autumn
thesixthaxis.comSega has revealed Sonic Superstars, a new side-scrolling platformer that promises “New thrills. Classic feel.” when it launches this autumn across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Sonic Superstars might be side-scrolling, but it’s fully 3D graphics… which we’ve seen a few times in the last 15 years of Sonic.
You’ll be able to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy through the game, but it seems you’ll have full four player co-op, getting some of that New Super Mario Bros. feel as you bump into other players at times, race through some more competitive looks areas. Solo or multiplayer, there’s some interesting new gameplay twists, like transformations into a squid for an underwater section, new pick ups that can let you climb up waterfalls.
Oh, and there’s a teaser of Nack the Weasel…
