Now that theSteam Deck is out in the wild, users are learning and figuring out all kinds of different things about the handheld game console. In fact, one enterprising Steam Deck user has even figured out how to incorporate an Apple Air Tag into the device so that people can have a way to track it should they lose it while playing it on the go.
One of the most useful features of Apple devices has long been the fact that they are loaded up with technology that allows people to rather easily find them should they get lost or get stolen. Apple's Air Tag is a small device that was released as a way to use that technology for things that aren't produced by the Cupertino company. With more Steam Decks being released en masse in the near future, and no built-in way to track the mobile gaming device, a Reddit user has figured out how to use the trackers even if takes a bit of work.

Redditor mikerfxm posted a video showing how they were able to slip the small tracker disc into the housing of the Steam Deck under its right grip. The user also explained that placing the Air Tag in the right spot allowed its insertion without interrupting rear R4 and R5 macro buttons.
Considering that the Steam Deck has already had some performance issues pop up since it was released, the user did note that the exact placement of the disc was important, but if done right it doesn't require any more tools than a screwdriver in order to remove the backplate and open the console. Once the device is inserted, being able to track it is as simple as if someone attached the Air Tag to their key ring or slipped it into their wallet.
