Rebellion has shared a release date and details of pre-order bonus content for Sniper Elite 5, including exclusive new missions.
The latest entry in the Sniper Elite series was already slated for a 2022 release, but developer Rebellion has now provided an exact date, and fans need only wait a couple extra months.
Sniper Elite 5 will release on May 26 for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms. It’ll also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one so subscribers can play it at no extra cost.
The new story trailer provides a broad overview of the plot, which involves series protagonist Karl Fairburne trying to foil a new Nazi plot called Operation Kraken.
Rebellion has also detailed the game’s pre-order bonuses and what will be included in the Deluxe Edition. Even if you pre-order the standard edition of Sniper Elite 5, you’ll receive a new weapon, the P.1938 Suppressed Pistol, and an extra mission called Wolf Mountain.
It’s essentially a follow-up to Sniper Elite 4’s Target: Führer DLC, with your mission being to assassinate Hitler himself. You’ll be breaking into his private mountain retreat, which is filled with heavily armed personal guards and hidden collectibles.
The Deluxe Edition comes bundled with the pre-order bonuses, plus a season pass that contains two more campaign missions, two weapon skin packs, two character packs, and six weapon packs. Presumably the season pass will be available to purchase separately.
Aside from the campaign, Sniper Elite 5 will also feature multiplayer modes for up to 16 players and a new Invasion mode that lets you jump into another player’s campaign as an Axis sniper and try to take them out.
