Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has been spotted testing a new feature. The upcoming update will make your Whatsapp profile sharing process much easier than before. There are already a number of ways to share your WhatsApp number. But the traditional way may not appeal to everyone everytime. Of course, WhatsApp does give you the option to share a link available attached with your profile along with a QR code. You can go to your profile settings and find a QR code symbol along with your name which provides you a link to share, but copying the link without sharing it to anyone makes the job complicated. And now WhatsApp is all set to release a solution!
According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp updates tracker, reported that the messaging app may get a new interface for business accounts where users will be able to share a short link with customers directly from the app. WABetaInfo spotted the change on a new WhatsApp for Android beta version. According to the report, the update will be available to Business Accounts on iPhones as well.
The WhatsApp update tracker website also shared two screenshots in regard to the new profile sharing UI update which indicate that the existing QR code icon will be replaced with a new icon of 'Share'. Once you tap on it, it brings two options for you, first to copy the short profile link and second, to share the profile directly to other contacts. This will allow other contacts to copy your profile link and have a chat with you without the need to save the number in their contact list. The link starts with a short URL wa.me and mentions your contact number too, the report suggests. This will also allow you to share your profile via different social apps.
