A player of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim player got a pretty much useless Blessing of Talos after praying at a shrine. Skyrim is over a decade old at this point, but it still appears to have an active user base. Bethesda has re-released the game several times on various platforms, with the Switch version of Skyrim'sAnniversary Edition being the latest addition to this list.
Players can get various buffs by activating shrines or Standing Stones as they journey across the world of Skyrim. Standing Stones grant larger buffs that remain active until the user decides to switch them, while shrine blessings last for eight hours. Each shrine is dedicated to a specific god, and the benefits range from having extra health and stamina to lower prices when buying items. One Skyrim player recently received the Blessing of Talos, although it appears to be completely useless.
Skyrim Player Gets Knocked Into Inescapable Area
A Reddit user named thaiborg has shared an image showing the active effect of the Blessing of Talos. This blessing is supposed to reduce the time between shouts by 20% for 8 hours, but thaiborg’s blessing doesn’t appear to have any effect as the given change is 0%. The player sarcastically thanks Talos in the post’s title, but it seems like the blessing will work as intended after all. According to one Skyrim fan, this is a visual bug and thaiborg is still getting the desired 20% reduction in time between shouts.
It appears that many gamers have encountered this bug in their playthrough as users mention seeing similar posts before. It looks like this display error has been an issue with Skyrim for a while, and one user is surprised that Bethesda has yet to fix it despite re-releasing the game several times.
