On Sister Wives,Maddie Brown Brush and Mykelti Brown Padron are half-sisters who have both had choice careers in mind, but their college education journeys have had some twists and turns. Out of the 18 Brown children, many of the older ones are getting ready to tackle the real world, and they are carving out their paths to prepare for what's next. For some, this includes higher education. Kody and Janelle Brown's daughter Maddie, 26, and Mykelti, 25, who is Kody and Christine's daughter, have things in common. They are both married, they are the only Brown children with kids of their own, and they have both been to college.
Seeking a higher education is nothing new in the Brown family. Christine's daughter Aspyn Brown graduated from UNLV in 2019 with a degree in education. Her daughter Ysabel is currently attending East Carolina University. Meri's daughter Mariah graduated from Westminster College in 2013 and received her master's in social work from Loyola University in Chicago in 2020. Three of Janelle's sons have sought higher education, including Hunter Brown, an Air Force Academy grad, who recently received his master's in nursing at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University. Sister Wives sisters Maddie and Mykelti also began with the intention of obtaining college educations and then pursuing careers.

Maddie enrolled in Utah State University and attended during the 2015-2016 academic year. However, she dropped out in favor of a domestic life with Caleb Brush, who is Kody's brother-in-law.
