Using a Silent Hill level mod, a fan of the first game managed to explore the Midwich Elementary map from the first-person perspective. Many, many years have passed since players were last allowed to navigate the haunted halls of Midwich Elementary School, though that changed in 2020 when Dead by Daylight's Silent Hill Chapter added the school grounds as a playable map.
In terms of Silent Hill's interactive adventures, the elementary school only ever appeared in the first mainline game. It famously appeared in the 2006 film and comic the Dying Inside comic adaptation, as well. Despite its limited use in media, however, Midwich Elementary has long haunted the memories of Silent Hill faithful who remember the terror wrought by Team Silent's original adventure on PlayStation 1. Fans hold out hope for a chance to revisit the iconic locale on modern platforms, but there are also those who continue to find new ways of exploring Silent Hill's horror-inducing school map.
