Following the Silent Hill transmission from last night, fans of the series have been given plenty to tentatively look forward to, including a remake of Silent Hill 2, a new game called Silent Hill: f, and a multiplayer experience called Silent Hill: Ascension. Despite having four confirmed games on the horizon, fans have been quick to point out one rumoured title that was absent from the showcase entirely - Silent Hill: The Short Message.
As we reported last month, an unannounced title called Silent Hill: The Short Message popped up on the South Korean ratings board. Fans were quick to speculate that this was some kind of PT-esque short demo that'd go along with whatever other Silent Hill games eventually popped up, so they were quick to notice when it was completely missing from the showcase yesterday.

Although this might make you assume that The Short Message was just an unsubstantiated rumour, we know from the fact that it's been given a rating by an official ratings board that exists in some capacity. Several insiders have come out to speak on the game's existence, although the reports are a bit conflicting, with some believing that it might have been cancelled and others thinking it might just not be ready yet.
One insider, Lance McDonald, Tweeted about The Short Message, saying that he believed it might have been cancelled as several people had previously seen around an hour of leaked footage of it. McDonald said, "It may have been cancelled as the majority of it leaked, about an hour of footage has been being passed around in private of it, I believe. I haven't seen it myself."
