Images from Silent Hill 2 remake have emerged online, although there’s no agreement on what they are or if they’re real.
Only a few days ago, there was chatter of Konami announcing something Silent Hill related as early as this month. While the publisher is keeping mum about it, we may have seen evidence of one of the rumoured Silent Hill games in development.
Images for a remake of Silent Hill 2, which is said to be in development at The Medium studio Bloober Team, have been shared online.
Said images are admittedly slightly blurry, but one of them clearly features a nurse monster from Silent Hill 2.
If accurate, the remake seems to be opting for an over-the-shoulder perspective more in the line with the Resident Evil remakes.
Or at least that was the original idea, as it’s claimed that what we’re seeing here is from an early proof of concept, so things may have changed in the final game.
Twitter user Dusk Golem, who has repeatedly insisted that new Silent Hill projects are in the works, says that the images come from a demo Bloober Team put together before the remake was even greenlit.
‘They’re real, but they’re not even close to the final product,’ they say. ‘These are from an internal pitch demo from Bloober before they got greenlit, so it’s literally a no budget proof of concept thing rather than a final product, just keep that in mind. Out of everything that could’ve leaked, this isn’t actually what the final game looks like.’
VGC, which also claims to have heard of a Silent Hill revival, has corroborated Dusk Golem’s comments via its own sources.
Slides from a confidential PlayStation presentation have popped up online as well, which say that the remake will feature revised puzzles and two additional endings.
