Apple has discontinued a total of three smartphones and two of them belong to the iPhone 13 family. The full list includes iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. This might seem surprising given the iPhones were just one year old and are still among the top performing smartphones in the market, yet it is not unusual at all. Every year, after launching the new iPhone series, it discontinues the Pro models of the previous generation. But the question is why?
Discontinuation essentially means the iPhone models will no longer be manufactured. Apple Stores, either physical or digital, will not be selling these devices.
