After Elon Musk took control of Twitter, several reports and speculation related to the changes to be made to the social media platform have been circulating over the internet. However, now there is confirmation of the changes in the Twitter verification process. Replying to a Twitter user, Musk has confirmed that the Twitter verification process is being revamped. "The whole verification process is being revamped right now," the tweet read. It can be noted that no other detail has been provided related to the new verification process.
Also, Musk informed about the same in a reply to a Twitter thread when a Twitter user named Sriram Krishnan (@sriramk) wrote: "Now that the word is out: I'm helping out @elonmusk with Twitter temporarily with some other great people. I believe this is a hugely important company and can have great impact on the world and Elon is the person to make it happen."
After which another user named John Kraus (@johnkrausphotos) asked him: "any chance in helping with verification? Denied some 4-5 times despite large following and working to share spaceflight/rocket launches to the masses via my photography. Published in a plethora of huge outlets but Twitter doesn't seem to care!" And here is when Tesla's CEO replied.
Twitter is also considering charging for the coveted blue check mark verifying the identity of its account holder, technology newsletter Platformer reported on Sunday, citing two people familiar with the matter, according to a report by Reuters. Users would have to subscribe to Twitter Blue at $4.99 a month or lose their verified badges if the project moves forward. However, no official confirmation has been made by Musk on the same.
