In July, SEGA announced plans for the SEGA Genesis Mini 2, a mini console packed with 80s and early 90s games from the SEGA Genesis and SEGA CD consoles. It would be a follow-up to 2019's Sega Genesis Mini console, only smaller and featuring even more games. The initial SEGA Genesis Mini 2 announcement confirmed the first 23 games included on the device. Now SEGA is ready to unveil the full list of 60 games to be included on the SEGA Genesis Mini 2.
Unsurprisingly, there's a healthy mix of major and more niche game releases from the SEGA Genesis era. Some of the most critically acclaimed Genesis games now confirmed for the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 include Shining Force 2, Phantasy Star II, Ranger-X, Earthworm Jim 2, and Ristar. There are also popular titles like Clayfighter, Fatal Fury 2, Golden Axe 2, Streets of Rage 3, Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers, and Virtua Racing.
Sega Genesis Mini 2 Will Have Less Supply than the Original
Similarly, there's a solid line-up of SEGA CD games, too. That list includes Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Final Fight CD, Sewer Shark, Shining Force CD, and Silpheed. Even the cult classic FMV horror game Night Trap is included on the SEGA Genesis Mini 2. Overall, only 12 SEGA CD titles are included out of the 60 total, but it's a great snapshot of some of the best games released for the platform — and games that would otherwise be difficult to otherwise find and play, too.
In addition to the expected line-up of SEGA Genesis and SEGA CD releases, SEGA has also revealed the full list of bonus games including previously unreleased games and ports.
