There were also a few new games announced during this event, with the one that took many by surprise being Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. This Nintendo Warriors spin-off takes place within an alternate timeline of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, where the house leaders Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude embark on a new adventure.
Much like other titles in the series, this iteration will take the cast of Fire Emblem: Three Houses and place them in a hack-and-slash adventure where they are pitted against waves and waves of enemies. Each character has a distinct fighting style that aims to make them all feel unique thanks to the weapons they wield. For example, Edelgard specializes in axe weapons while Claude uses a bow. While this game may not be the strategy RPG that fans expected, an industry insider claims that a more traditional Fire Emblem game will also be released this year.

This claim is made by Emily Rodgers, who has had a track record of accurate Nintendo news. She had posted to Famiboards believing that a second Fire Emblem game is in the works at Intelligent Systems, mentioning that it is nearly finished in development. She also notes that this game has been in development for the past 3 years or even more. Rodgers also states that Intelligent Systems had received assistance from a smaller studio as well.
