There's everything to play for as both AMD and Nvidia continue to vie for supremacy in the graphics card world, with Intel still having quite a bit of catching up to do. As the next generation of GPU tech looms ahead, the two major powerhouses of the industry have been preparing their next offerings. Early speculations believe AMD's flagship Navi31 could be four times as powerful as the RX 6900 XT, and it's possible that team green may be gunning for a similar boost in teraflop delivery.
That's according to a rumor from known leaker kopite7kimi, as reported by Videocardz. In a recent tweet, it's been suggested that Nvidia could offer a graphics card that has up to 100 teraflops, or TFLOPS, of «raw compute power.» Given that the AMD equivalent could feature 92 TFLOPS, it seems obvious that both of these tech giants are still at loggerheads as this era of GPU offerings sees out its final months. Of course, it needs to be said at this stage that these are just speculations.

The report goes on to say that this could be in reference to the as-yet-unannounced RTX 4090, which would represent team green's flagship product in the Ada Lovelace range that's inbound. For comparison, the somewhat underwhelming Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti has 40 TFLOPS, so that would mean this elusive new GPU, if the rumors are to be believed, would be 2.5 times more powerful in terms of computer performance. It should be said that, similar to the recent AMD TFLOPS speculation, this doesn't mean the entire graphics card would be 2.5 times more powerful than the 3090 Ti in all respects, just in teraflops.
It's also been suggested that Nvidia could release a 900W RTX 4090 Ti at some point.
