Games platform Roblox is increasing the share of revenue that developers can receive from their premium titles on the service.
The news comes out of the Roblox Developers Conference 2024, in which the company revealed that if players on desktop pay with real-world money, creators will be able to keep between 50 and 70 per cent. This is coming out later this year, with Roblox saying that this will be expanding to other platforms in the future.
Prior to this, developers made around 30 per cent from purchases with in-game currency.
Furthermore, Roblox believes that in the future, ten per cent of all global games revenue will be generated by its platform in a statement that is no doubt targeted towards its shareholders.
"On our way to 10 per cent of gaming content revenue, we believe we will reach approximately 300 million daily active users," the company said.
'We believe that about 80 per cent of those people will come to Roblox to play together, with the rest coming to shop, consume entertainment, learn, or simply communicate with one another."
