Rob Zombie is teasing his latest film, The Munsters, on social media and including a nod to the original 1960s show. The filmmaker made his directorial debut in 2003 with House of 1000 Corpses and has since made a name for himself in modern horror, leading projects like The Devil's Rejects, The Lords of Salem, 3 from Hell, and 2007's Halloween remake, all of which have amassed cult followings. The Munsters, written and directed by Zombie, is a dark comedy based on the popular television sitcom of the same name and will observe a family of monsters, including vampires, a werewolf, and Frankenstein's creature, who settle in the American Suburb of Mockingbird Heights after relocating from Transylvania. The film's cast includes Pat Priest, who played Marilyn Munster in the original series, as well as Sheri Moon Zombie, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Daniel Roebuck, Richard Brake, Sylvester McCoy, and Jorge Garcia.
Ahead of The Munsters' release, Zombie has been offering fans a lot of behind-the-scenes looks and documenting its progress on social media. Some of the more exciting sneak peeks have revolved around the family's home, 1313 Mockingbird Lane, with the director going as far as to reveal interior images of its elaborate construction and gothic details. Additionally, fans have gotten to see the outside of the house, along with a glimpse at the neighborhood, and have been expressing their excitement over the recreation. Zombie has even gone on to share photos of the filming process of The Munsters, involving monitor views of the cast on set in costume.
