Reed Richards Is Unique in the Multiverse for the Darkest Reason Possible

In Fantastic Four #581 from Marvel Comics, Nathaniel visits his son in the past, revealing that the Time Variance Authority and Immortus held a deadly competition to leave one version of Reed's father standing after they all ended up on a single Earth.

However, Mr. Fantastic's dad has his own fascinating history, as the genius-level scientist inspired his gifted son with his brilliance. He would later become a time-traveler, leading to an incident that forced each version of Nathaniel Richards from across the Multiverse to fight for his own survival.
