Redmi reacts to price hike backlash! After quietly increasing the prices on the Redmi Note 11 a few days ago, the company has reduced the prices back to the launch price. No official reasons were given for this but it seems to be a reaction to the backlash Redmi received on online platforms after hiking the price notably within a month of its launch. The Redmi Note 11 is the most affordable model in the expansive Redmi Note series.
Redmi has increased the prices by Rs. 500 on both the base variants as well as the mid-tier variant. With the Rs. 500 price hike, Amazon was selling the Redmi Note 11 4GB/64GB variant at a price of Rs. 13,999, while the 6GB/64GB variant was sold at a price of Rs. 14,999. This price wasn’t reflected on Xiaomi’s won website and retail at the time. Now though, the prices are back to what they were at launch.
Hence, the 4GB/64GB variant of the Redmi Note 11 is coming in at a price of Rs. 13,499 while the 6GB/64GB variant gets a price tag of Rs. 14,499.
There’s no idea on whether Redmi had deliberately increased the prices or, it was a listing error on Amazon. Nonetheless, those willing to buy the Redmi Note 11 can be relieved of paying Rs. 500 less at the moment.
We had reviewed the Redmi Note 11 and found it to be an overall good deal for budget smartphone buyers. With its 90Hz AMOLED display and a pair of good stereo speakers, the Note 11 is good for movies and videos. The Snapdragon 680 chip is decent for daily use case scenarios and the battery lasts an entire day. However, there are better options available in the same price range, with the Micromax IN Note 2 being a notable alternative that you shouldn’t miss.
